Black Love

Today I saw an older couple, black to be exact.

They were walking through the store together in love, as if they were wed this day.

As we left the store at the same coincidently, they walked to their car

– only 2 parking spaces away from mine.

I smiled as the nice man held his beautiful wife as they walked, giving her a side hug.

They stopped at their car and he kissed her forehead.

I knew that black love was special, but now I know for myself that it’s an honor:

To be black,

to be black in love,

to be in love with someone black,

and to be in love as a black couple.

To my Momma.

Thank you for your endless generosity.

Your protective shield.

Your selflessness.

You are light.

You are love.

You are the definition of a Queen.

I appreciate all that you do,

Your wisdom.

Your love.

Your inner peace.

You are appreciated.

You are my friend.

You are my protector.

You are my sunshine.

You are my birther.

You are my mother.

I.

I am light.

I am love.

I am fueled by God’s goodness.

I am powered by God’s grace.

I am gifted with honor.

I am stronger because of my past.

I am me, because HE is the I AM

Nipsey Hussle: Gone but never forgotten.

Nipsey, you were a true hustler in terms of changing the game.

You taught us how to change our neighborhoods, educate our youth in investing, tell us the truth about our people; and all this by telling your story.

I pray to GOD that you felt no pain, that GOD protects your family and loves ones; and that our world learns from yesterday’s mistakes.

You were taken, but your with GOD now.

We miss you, we thank you, we love you Nipsey.

May you now truly be on your victory lap in GOD’S house of heaven.
